Naifaru is an inhabited island in Lhaviyani Atoll administrative division and geographically part of the North Faadhippolhu Atoll in the north of the Maldives. It is an island-level administrative constituency in north province, governed by the Naifaru Island Council. Naifaru is a busy harbour, where many vessels that ply between the northern atolls and Male’ stopover for the night. The island is also famous for its indigenous medicine. Naifaru is close by, benefits vastly from the growing tourism and fisheries industries in the atoll. A large percentage of the workforce of the island is employed at the Felivaru Canning Factory or at the resorts in the atoll.
