Kanditheemu (Shaviyani Atoll)

Kanditheemu is an inhabited island in Shaviyani Atoll administrative division and geographically part of the Miladhunmadulu Atoll in the northern part of the Maldives. It is an island-level administrative constituency in north central province, governed by the Kanditheemu Island Council.

Kanditheemu has the oldest known written sample of the thaana script. It is on the doorframe of the main mosque and dates from 1588 AD.
