Baarah (Haa Alifu Atoll)

Baarah is an inhabited island in Haa Alifu Atoll administrative division and geographically part of the Thiladhunmathi Atoll in the north end of the Maldives. It is an island-level administrative constituency in upper north province, governed by the Baarah Island Council.

The legendary vessel ‘Kalhuohfummi’ that played a key role in Mohamed Thakurufaanu’s war against the Portuguese was built on this island.
