Thinadhoo (Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll)

Overview

Thinadhoo is an inhabited island in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll (South Huvadhoo Atoll) administrative division and geographically part of Huvadhoo Atoll in the south of the Maldives. It is an island-level administrative constituency in upper south province, governed by the Thinadhoo Island Council.

Thinadhoo is the capital island of the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll and has atoll council as well functioning in the island. Thinadhoo is the most prosperous island in Huvadhoo atoll. Earlier in the 20th century Thinadhoo was the capital of all the 292 islands that make up Huvadhu Atoll.
