Eriyadu: Small island, big dreams
My titel is the sentence that adorns, since a while, the cover of Eriyadu's fb page. A kind of state of mind, which is currently and actually on going!
When it appeared first, some italian friends of mine, who visited before, were really skeptical about.

My stay at Bandos
The speedboat ride was a mere 20 minutes from the airport and check-in was immediate. My sea-facing cottage was large with tea/coffee-making facilities, bathroom toiletries and bottled water provided. I had a little balcony outside where I could hang wet

Again and again to the same island
Embudu is an old-styled, small island. Basic, but with charm. There is no pool and no entertainment. Only a few water bungalows. Therefore the island is not overcrowded. Just a few guests on the beach. The guests only meet during the meals.

Vivanta by Taj takes care of me
Second part of my staying by Vivanta: I went there with a foot which was 'out of order' because of a twist occurred at dawn during a photo safari by another resort! I already knew the island dimensions were perfect for my handicap but I didn't expect ever

Died and gone to Huvafen
I hate to admit that I think I have a new favourite island! I have never been a fan of 5*'s but have wanted to visit Huvafen since the minute I saw the pictures. For me it was the ultimate island.
The airport reps and boat crew were very welcoming and

Destination of choice for honeymoon or hibernation
I stayed at Zithali for about 3 days and was WOW-ed by the fantastic customer service, the friendliness of the staffs, beautiful decorations, and tranquility of the surroundings.

Holiday paradise in the Inn
Holiday Inn Kandooma epitomises good customer service. This is what impressed me the most here. The staffs are accommodating, friendly, smiling and I feel that they go out of the way to make me happy as a resort guest. Having been to a few Maldives resort

Bandos resort - my first
I stayed at Bandos during my first trip to Maldives. I like that it's near Male so I didn't have to take seaplane. It's very casual and there are a lot of activities to do - Snorkelling, Day trip to the nearby Male City, Island hopping, scuba diving, Do

Just returned from my third visit to Biyadhoo and as a person who does not like to return to the same place twice unless it is a hub for further travel, this shows how much I love this island. It is not the location, anywhere is prob amazing in the Maldiv

I will be back
This was my first solo visit to the Maldives and to a very big island. It was amazing to be staying here, I have visited on 3 occasions while crusing on the Atoll Explorer and never really fancied staying. How wrong could I be.

Bi-ya-dhoo is an attitude
I start this review by quoting Nic's last sentence in her review (to be honest I could quote everything she wrote, without changing a comma, because she did a very good, objective, professional and detailed work. Bravissima Nic!). So, my suggestion is to r

Sheraton- a review based on my standards not theirs.
Having never stayed at a Sheraton in any other country I didn't have any preconceptions of what to expect nor can I compare it to international Sheraton standards. My review is based on the island as an individual Maldives resort.

Olhuveli- In a word 'Stunning'
It was over two years ago I stayed at Olhuveli so there may have been some changes.
I would recommend the island for honeymooners definitely. If you want stunning photos that you will never get bored of looking at then this is the place.

There's something about Biyadhoo....
This is both the hardest and easiest review to write but I will be honest and objective.
There really is something unique about the island, it's difficult to put your finger on it but I think its a combination of chilled out friendly people, relaxed, i

Coco Palm Bodu Hithi. Prepare to be 'wow'ed!
For the ultimate indulgent holiday or special occasion then this is the perfect island. The island is natural, beautifully kept and has all the luxuries too.
The boat journey across was a smooth and enjoyable one.

Ellaidhoo - worth adding to the list.
Ellaidhoo is well known for the amazing reef surrounding the island and I have to agree!
I would say the reef was on a similar rating to Biyadhoo and Fihalhohi. The standard of the island is a little higher though.
I have heard some negative comments

Expectations exceeded!
I first visited Vilamendhoo before the re-furb and although the snorkeling was fantastic I did agree the renovation was long overdue.
I had some reservations about visiting as I knew it was renovated by the owners of Meeru and that has never been my f

Ahh.. Veligandu.
Veligandu is always going to be my favourite.
It was one of the first islands I visited nearly 5 years ago and have been back since in September 2010. Some of the main staff are still working there now which I think speaks volumes. It also adds to the

I visited Makunudu after waiting over a year and it was worth the wait. It was everything I was expecting and everything I love about Maldives islands. The food was exceptional for the rating. There was a nice balance of nationalities and a general easy g

Truly paradise
I have been to this resort twice, the first in 2008 and the second visit was two years ago. I've enjoyed every single minute of my stay; the Maldives are paradise on Earth.

It ticks all my boxes
I have been here twice before, once as part of a couple and once solo. I am returning next month and also booked a fortnight just before it closes for the long-anticipated but dreaded refurb.
Why dreaded? Because many of us like it just the way it is
